The NinjaOne train isn’t slowing down in 2025! We’re rolling full steam ahead with another packed release! NinjaOne 8.0 is pulling in with a load of highlights including, Automated Vulnerability Data Ingestion and Reporting, Patching via Native Script Automations for Scan and Apply, CVE and CVSS info for Third Party Patches, Winget support, Device Tags, and more!
Patching and Vulnerability Focused Updates
Get ready to amplify your patching and vulnerability management! This release unleashes a powerful suite of enhancements designed to streamline your workflows and bolster your endpoint defenses.
We’re talking Automated Vulnerability Data Ingestion and Reporting, saving you time and reducing risk by ensuring timely vulnerability data availability.
Streamline the patching process: Patch Scan and Apply enables better automation and scripting outside of policy schedules. This update allows administrators to initiate on-demand scans and updates, force updates without interrupting users, and have more control over patching schedules.
Which leads us to, a new update surrounding CVE and CVSS scores: CVE and CVSS scores for Third-Party Patches. Gain deeper insights into your third-party patches empowering you to prioritize approvals and automate patching based on risk.
Plus, we’re expanding our reach with Winget support for seamless Windows software management and Linux Patching to provide a truly comprehensive endpoint management solution. This release doesn’t just include several patching enhancements – it’s about empowering you to proactively manage vulnerabilities and secure your entire environment.
Device Tags
Unlock new flexibility with endpoint management with the arrival of Device Tags. This exciting new feature empowers you to add a whole new layer of organization and control to your managed devices. Think about it: tagging devices with custom labels to reflect any relevant quality, independent of organization or role.
This opens a world of possibilities, from creating dynamic device groupings for targeted actions to streamlining device searches and reporting. But the real magic happens with Automation. Device Tags become a key to unlocking powerful new workflows, allowing you to trigger automated actions based on a ton of device characteristics you define.
More Mobile Device Management (MDM) Upgrades
Prepare to unlock a new level of control and efficiency in your mobile device management. We’re bolstering our MDM capabilities with several new features, however there are a trio that are the highlights of this release. First, unleash the full potential of Apple MDM with Custom Payloads. Configure anything you need, even settings not natively supported by NinjaOne’s policies, opening up a world of previously unavailable options.
Next, streamline app deployment with Managed App Configurations for iOS and iPadOS. Pre-configure app settings with key-value pairs, ensuring a seamless user experience from the moment of installation.
Finally, boost your automation with Variable Support for MDM Policies. Dynamically insert user and device info into app configurations and custom payloads, eliminating manual work and maximizing efficiency. These MDM enhancements empower you to manage your mobile fleet with precision and ease.

NinjaOne Ticketing
- Provide new placeholder variables for all public comments and private / public comments for use in automation actions
- Add the ability to use images inside technician signatures and automations
NinjaOne Documentation
- We have added related items to End-Users. The items that are related to a user can now be seen on the end user dashboard.
- We have overhauled the UI for Checklists in NinjaOne Documentation aimed at making it easier for technicians to work through tasks when using them
NinjaOne Backup
- Running job estimate to completion measures the speed of a Backup job and estimates the time to completion
- Backup Dashboard now defaults to ‘Last Job’ instead of ‘Today’ that will report a backup job’s last status as either Success, Warning, or Failure
Integrations
- Autotask API efficiencies
- Bulk updates shifted for device data, syncing all field updates (e.g., serial number, MAC address, RAM) together, instead of one at a time and on a daily schedule. Since these fields rarely change, this eliminates unnecessary calls.
- NinjaOne will handle device management tasks — like creations — in real-time, but defer less urgent updates to reduce API overhead.
- NinjaOne testing shows that these changes significantly reduce API usage, especially for our largest Autotask clients, and completely eliminate API overages caused by NinjaOne.
- ServiceNow CMDB Custom Fields
- This enhancement synchronizes a NinjaOne device’s Custom Fields to its respective ServiceNow Configuration Item held in the ServiceNow CMDB so that workflows and automations in ServiceNow can be completed successfully.
- Freshservice Marketplace APP
- To ensure consistency with other NinjaOne integrations, and reduce the need for platform switching, we’re excited to introduce the NinjaOne Freshservice Marketplace Sidebar App in version 8.0.
- This new app enables technicians to easily locate, and remotely access, NinjaOne devices directly within Freshservice, streamlining their workflow and enhancing efficiency. This is in preparation for an integration currently in Beta.
