There’s never a dull moment in IT. Ransomware attacks, unplanned system outages, flooded data centers, and disappearing endpoints are just a few of the things that keep IT professionals up at night. And yet, there’s never been more pressure for IT teams to do more with less.
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new podcast series – “IT Horror Stories,” to honor and assist the next generation of IT leaders as they look to advance in their careers (a career marked by constant change, adaptability, and evolution).
Introducing IT Horror Stories
Hosted by our Director of Community Jonathan Crowe, IT Horror Stories will feature conversations with seasoned industry experts – including renowned CIOs (like Wawa’s John Collier and Netskope’s Mike Anderson), VPs of Infrastructure, Directors of IT, and more – as we unpack some of the most formative moments in their careers. They’ll relive the toughest single challenge they ever faced, unpack how they overcame those unique obstacles, and leave listeners with lessons learned and actionable advice to better fend off IT horrors of their own.
Episode 1: Hurricanes and Diesel Fuel
Our first episode (out today!) features Nick Colisto, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at global manufacturing leader Avery Dennison. With over two decades of experience in the residential construction and pharmaceutical spaces, Nick brings a wide range of expertise to his role.
But as a first-time CIO in 2012, he found himself facing the unthinkable: chasing down diesel fuel to keep his company’s data center (and, therefore, business operations) running amidst a devastating natural disaster. He walks us through his thought process during those exhausting days, how his team ultimately rose to the task at hand, and lessons learned.
You can tune in on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Don’t forget to subscribe so you can keep up with the latest episodes as they are released! We’ll be back with another episode in two weeks.
